GROUP CLASSES

At Gym Lab, your local Apollo Bay gym, we offer a diverse range of group fitness classes designed for all ages and fitness levels. From strength and functional training to Pilates, yoga and outdoor boot camps along the Great Ocean Road. Every class is led by qualified local trainers and capped in size so members receive quality coaching, correct technique guidance and a supportive group environment that keeps you motivated and consistent.

RISE & MOTIVATE

A half hour class designed to take your fitness performance to the next level. Through the inclusion of compound lifts, explosive movements, fast intervals and full-body burners, you will increase both your anaerobic and aerobic capacity. Expect to work with intensity, push your limits and unleash your inner strength in a fun morning workout session.

SWEAT & SHINE

A 45 minute class designed for an enjoyable & energetic workout experience for everyone.
Our friendly instructors will guide you through a variety of exercises that keep things fresh & exciting. From cardio routines that get your heart pumping, to strength exercises that help you build & tone muscles, this class has it all!
Come as you are, leave with a sense of accomplishment, and enjoy the camaraderie of a supportive fitness community. Get ready to have a blast leaving sweaty & ready to shine through your day!

FUNCTIONAL STRENGTH

A strength class of full body exercises, designed to improve day to day movements. A 45 minute class with a program that is tailored for all levels of fitness in a controlled & supportive environment. 

MAT PILATES

Come join our Pilates Instructors Naamah and Darby on the floor for a 45 minute guided Mat Pilates session. Naamah & Darby are passionate Pilates instructors who create fun, inclusive classes that empower and energise. With a focus on mindful movement, they help students build strength and wellbeing. 

EVENING YOGA

Expect a slower physical practice, using the breath to guide the expression of various postures (sitting, standing and lying down).  This time is intended to create some warmth in the body through purposeful movement, a sense of overall space & quiet for our savasana (integration/relaxation) as the day draws to an end.  Please bring a yoga mat, comfortable clothes, & if the weather calls for it a blanket for the ending. Please arrive a few minutes before class to ensure we all get the most from our time together.  No phones please.

HATHA YOGA

Participants can expect breathwork, mantra and a physical practice that begins with a gentle warm up, followed by sun salutations, inversions, back bending and savasana (integration/relaxation).  This session takes a more traditional approach in that we focus on the particular purpose and benefit of each pose including the order in which they are taken.   There are modifications for every posture.Please bring a yoga mat, comfortable clothes, and if the weather calls for it, a blanket for a cosy ending. Please arrive a few minutes before class to ensure we all get the most from our time together.  No phones please.

YIN YOGA

Yin Yoga draws together yogic science, Traditional Chinese Medicine and functional anatomy. 
Predominantly Yin Yoga is based on floor postures held for extended periods (2-10 mins) creatively using props (and the additional class length) to ensure maximum benefit of each posture and the session overall.  
There isn’t much movement, and we don’t generate heat in the body, so dress in layers to make sure you don’t get cold.  
Yin Yoga is a widely accessible practice and the benefits are enjoyed by people of all ages, abilities and experience.
Through this quiet, still and introspective approach, connective tissue quality is enhanced, energy channels are stimulated and improvements in physical mobility, mental clarity and emotional regulation are gained.

HYROX FUSION

A high-energy 45-minute class blending strength, conditioning and endurance inspired by HYROX-style training. Using movements like sled pushes, SkiErg, rowing, carries, lunges, burpees and sprints, designed to build strength, stamina and resilience. This will challenge both your engine and your muscles. Move hard, sweat lots and leave feeling strong.

GOLDEN GROOVE

Join our resident lively Group Instructor, Nat for a combination of fun & a low impact 45 minute fitness class.

Get ready to stretch, lift and do mobility movements for a healthier, happier you. This class is designed to make you smile, boost your energy, and keep you moving through your golden years. Golden Groove is where age is just a number and we're proving you can move at any age!

GRIT & GLOW

End your day with a sunset sweat! This 45-minute full-body class is designed for all fitness levels to build strength with a sprinkle of intensity, burn off the day’s energy, and leave you glowing with feel good vibes. It’s the perfect way to finish the day on a high!

YOGA WITH GABBY

A 45 minute heart-centred yoga class guiding you through intentional poses to create space in the body and mind. It is sealed with a guided relaxation allowing your nervous system to restore and rejuvenate. Perfect for those seeking balance, inner connection, and a reset from the inside out. 

ASHTANGA VINYASA

Participants can expect a more dynamic and powerful flowing class with the opportunity to learn the traditional opening mantra.  Breath leads the movement and the practice teaches us about how we feel as we move through the practice rather than what we might look like.Suitable for those who want a stronger more flowing practice.  Getting tired is fine, getting hot is fine, getting confused is fine, resting is fine.It is not recommended to take this practice when you are injured.  

SLOW FLOW YOGA

This class is a slow version of vinyasa, it is beginner to intermediate with variations in poses. We begin with Pranayma (breathwork) to ground, calm the mind, and bring ourselves into our bodies. We then move into Asana (pose) sequence. To integrate our practice we in the end, we lie down and have Shivasana (relaxation). Please bring a yoga mat, comfortable clothes, and a blanket for a cosy ending. Please arrive a few minutes before the class starts , turning off your phones when you arrive or leaving them in your car. See you there!

YOGA IN THE TWILIGHT ZONE

You know the feeling - Friday is ending, the weekend isn’t quite here, it’s no longer afternoon, and not quite evening, summer is close, and holidays are on the horizon…daylight savings seems like a portal extending the time in between day and night…landing us in the soft blur of the twilight zone!
For a limited time please join Russelle for an additional class crafted to meet the mood of these days and the experience of the students.
